Lessons from BlogTV.sg

I was invited to a televised talk show on Channel News Asia about blogging and bloggers by a friend. It turned out she was so busy that I ended up setting up the initial meet as well as providing the seed of a menu to Azhang. I recommended Azhang because I felt that the premise was large enough to accomodate everyone (including camera crew and other people) and Patrick and Ava are nice people.

It was a very good and fun experience for me as I learnt a lot about blogging from looking at their previous episodes as well as talking to the hosts and crew.

A few lessons I learnt:

  1. Don’t blog about work. If you have a problem, speak to the organization or person you have an issue with. Blogging about it in public only serves to hurt the organization or person without resolving anything.
  2. Don’t speak with an accent. Or, if you really must, speak with an identifiable accent; it’s not about making your point clear to people, it’s about not distracting them with a perceived affectation.
  3. Sex objects get job offers. Tits for gigs, as it were.
  4. And finally, Jesus hates blogs.

Oh yes, Amelia: Photo?

🙂 Thanks for helping your then-super-busy-blogger-friend out! I had a great time catching up with everyone at Azhangs.
